Some Day We Will This is a touching song about the shameful way we treat our elderly, locking them away in homes to expire quietly. In particular it's about Ross's Grandmother, who was very ill for the last few years of her life. This song has claimed a tear or two. I got the idea for the oboe in the break, and the woodwind arrangement flowed out of that. My hope was to use the type of instrumentation that a grandmother might like, so I ended up choosing oboe, french horn, flute and piano. The spooky little melody in the outro was April's idea, and it really does a nice job of putting the song to rest. April wanted the ending to be a bit more dramatic, but Ross's interpretation just wouldn't support it. The song just kind of comes to rest quietly, which is appropriate in a way, isn't it?
